  • First Class, Alabama's Voluntary Pre-K Program

We are excited that our school has been granted this opportunity! Applications will be accepted June 8 - July 7, 2015. We will accept applications with approved proof of residence in the Lake View school zone. Your child's application will be numbered and
you will be given the same number. Completion of an application does not guarantee enrollment.
Students are chosen by a random drawing. A public drawing will be held Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. Sixteen numbers will be drawn and the students will be placed on a class list. The remaining numbers will be placed on a stand-by list in the number order by which they were drawn.

Here are the State of Alabama Guidelines:

     1.   The registered child must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2015. Children who are eligible for Kindergarten are
           ineligible to register.
     2.   Parents/Guardians must provide proof of residence such as a recent power bill, telephone bill, or rent receipt.
     3.   Parent Involvement requirements include 12 hours of volunteer service which could include attendance in a
           Parent Education workshop.
     4.   Pre-K students will be car riders only. Bus transportation will not be provided.
     5.   Pre-K will not be allowed to attend Early Morning Care or Extended Day.
     6.   If your child's name is chosen at the drawing, you will be required to provide birth certificate, social security card and

  •
Lake View is a 7 Habits School!
Here are the terms and definitions to what we believe!

Habit 1: Be Proactive - I have a "Can Do" attitude and always try my best at everything I do.

Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind: I plan ahead and set goals for myself.

Habit 3: Put First Things First: I do things I have to do before the things I want to do.

Habit 4: Think Win-Win - I am a problem solver when an issue comes up with another person and I think about what others want and not just what I want.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood - I listen to others without interrupting.

Habit 6: Synergize - I get along well with others and work good in groups.

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw - I take care of my body by exercising, eating right and getting enough sleep.

  • Notice to Tuscaloosa County School System Families:

Along with maintaining our instructional program, student safety remains as our greatest concern. In times of threatening conditions due to severe weather, we have developed a plan throughout the Tuscaloosa County School System to allow for a delayed opening of school. If such action is required, the time for the opening of school will be announced through all normal media outlets, system website, and parent notification system. Bus transportation schedules will be adjusted to allow for the delay and breakfast will be offered upon students' arrival to school. Schools will follow their regular afternoon dismissal plan.  If absences are related due to severe weather, please contact your local school administrators.
